Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time teaching position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a K-12 school setting, located in Westminster, MD. This role is a contract assignment for the duration of the school year, requiring 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students across grades K-12.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students specific needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure consistent munication and student progress.
  • Utilize assistive technologies and adaptive materials to enhance learning experiences.
  • Conduct assessments and maintain accurate documentation of student performance and progress.

Qualifications :

  • Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
  • Experience working with K-12 visually impaired students.
  • Strong knowledge of visual impairment strategies, educational tools, and relevant technologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent munication and organizational skills.

  • This position offers a petitive hourly rate consistent with previous placements for TVIs in the area. Candidates will be pensated for 35 hours per week, aligned with a full-time schedule.
