As a key member in our engineering team, you will plan and carry out innovative activities focused on designing, developing, and enhancing our sapphire manufacturing processes and products. This role requires you to take the lead on various projects, leveraging your experience and judgment to navigate challenges. You will engage with different departments, disciplines, and occasionally connect with customers, ensuring smooth collaboration. While keeping your supervisor updated on your progress towards objectives, we encourage you to be self-driven and work independently to a significant extent. Additionally, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to train and mentor junior engineers and production staff.
In this capacity, you may guide or oversee fellow engineers or technicians, helping them achieve project milestones or support various goals. Collaborating with and assisting colleagues on projects will be a regular part of your role, and you may even lead an engineering team or spearhead a Continuous Improvement initiative. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating BOMs, developing routings, and calculating product costs, positioning you as a vital resource for sales, marketing, and product development managers in their efforts to enhance customer service and drive product innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, coordinate, conduct and complete project-based product design and development activities that support the goals and objectives of the company. Create BOM’s and Routings for product costing.
- Develop and initiate innovative engineering ideas for the development of more effective manufacturing processes or products, or for the improvement of existing manufacturing processes or products. Documenting processes, procedures and equipment.
- Prepare and present regular engineering reports, documents and drawings documenting results of a project or other engineering activity or effort.
- Provide mentoring and leadership to less experienced engineers or technicians. Other activities as defined by business needs.
- Ability to resolve issues autonomously while collaborating with internal teams.
- Independent research may be necessary to acquire knowledge on material properties or other essential design attributes pertinent to the project.
- A considerable level of creativity is required to address a diverse range of challenges.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in General Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.A minimum of 2 to 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience with ceramic or metal fabrication technologies is preferred .Proficiency in 3D CAD software, with a preference for Creo Parametric.Familiarity with Item Master, routing, and bill of materials management.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Capability to manage multiple priorities while effectively communicating information in both written and oral formats.Ability to employ deductive and inductive reasoning when addressing routine decisions or emergencies.Benefits
