Companion Care Provider Opening

WHAT ?

A Companion Care Home is a residential option for up to 3 individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to live in a home with 1 live-in service provider.   Companion Care Providers are non-family members sharing a home owned by another entity that promotes a natural, family environment with stability and increased continuity of care.

WHO?

• The Candidate
• Is at least 18 years of age;
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalency or a successfully completed written competency-based assessment with 3 personal references;
• Has a valid Texas driver’s license and proof of auto insurance;
• Must complete all training;
• Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 documents as proof of location of residence; and
• Must not have been convicted of a barrable offense.
• Responsibilities
• Face-to-face assistance with acquiring, retaining, and / or improving self-help, socialization skills, and adaptive skills that are necessary for the individual to successfully reside, integrate, and participate in the community;
• Develop and / or improve skills that allow the individual to live more independently;
• Secure and / or providing transportation.
• Expectations
• Provide a structured and loving environment.
• Allow the individuals to be as independent as possible.
• Engage in leisure activities.
