Primary Purpose :

The Lead Systems Engineer for Automation plays a vital role within our IT department. This is a senior technical position requiring extensive experience in information technology paired with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as a mentor and team contributor.

You will leverage your self-motivation and expertise to drive the design, implementation, and optimization of complex systems, partnering closely with Principal Engineers and managers. Your role includes collaborating with IT architecture, defining strategies, and delivering high-quality systems that meet business needs. You will also support IT infrastructure and product solutions, focusing on both cloud and hybrid systems while ensuring reliable application hosting in our expansive enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive automation solutions utilizing UiPath, Power Automate, and PowerApps.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to identify and articulate automation opportunities into technical requirements.
  • Optimize and maintain existing automation workflows for enhanced scalability and performance.
  • Uphold compliance with governance, security, and industry best practices during automation development.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior automation developers, fostering their growth.
  • Document automation processes meticulously and manage version control effectively.
  • Monitor automation systems to troubleshoot issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring swift resolutions.

Note : This is a hybrid position that requires in-office presence at least three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must reside within our service territories. No relocation assistance will be provided.

Primary Duties :

  • Lead discussions for gathering requirements and performing feasibility analysis, consulting with various stakeholders to develop system specifications and architecture diagrams. Deliver cost-effective solutions that meet business needs, including hands-on configuration and optimization. (30%)
  • Collaborate with team members to formulate future plans, resources, migration strategies, and schedules, while providing oversight for junior engineers. (25%)
  • Design and maintain custom system integrations based on customer requirements, staying informed of evolving IT technologies. (20%)
  • Identify and address risks and issues following established processes while supplying relevant data to peers and leadership. (15%)
  • Ensure adherence to preferred technologies, methodologies, and policies while actively participating in peer code reviews and maintaining strong problem-solving skills. (10%)
  • Job Scope :

  • Involves designing, delivering, documenting, and supporting infrastructure systems.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of technology applications across business domains.

  • Requires a high level of expertise and the capacity to work autonomously, applying independent judgment.

  • May oversee and mentor interns or apprentices, acting as a peer coach.
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Networking, with 4-7 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure design, application design, or cloud computing, or 6-9 years of comparable experience.
  • Proven experience in system administration and process documentation.
  • A demonstrated ability in automation development, specifically with UiPath, Power Automate, and PowerApps.
  • Proficient in solving complex problems and delivering technical information in accessible terms.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with an ability to foster relationships across teams.
  • Ability to deliver projects in alignment with established management principles and perform financial impact analysis.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and the ability to make informed monitoring decisions.
  • A deepening knowledge of cloud technologies and security evaluations.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • In-depth understanding of RPA best practices and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with integration of automation solutions with enterprise systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Relevant certifications in UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and Agile methodologies.
