Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Prince Frederick, MD 20678 (Southern Maryland healthcare job)

Clinical Setting : Labor & Delivery, Level 1 Nursery

Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Weekend Requirement : Yes

Floating : May float between similar nursing units

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1760 - $1890

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Maryland or compact state)

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (3 years preferred)

Previous travel nursing experience required

Required certifications : ACLS, NRP, EFM, STABLE

COVID-19 vaccination required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

First-time travel nurses not accepted

Pending Maryland RN license accepted

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a Level 1 nursery

Manage patient ratios of 1 : 3-4 (couplets) during night and weekend shifts

Provide care for neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and NAS (Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome) babies

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy

Support Baby Friendly guidelines and promote family-centered care in the clinical setting

Complete orientation and required online nursing modules prior to assignment start

Float between similar Labor & Delivery or mother-baby units as needed
