About the Role :

We have an exciting opportunity to support our Digital Technology team as a Senior Engineer, Mobile App based in Shelton, CT or Miami, FL. The Senior Engineer, Mobile App is a highly skilled mobile expert responsible for the development, delivery, and maintenance of Subway's mobile applications. You will work on implementing new features, optimizing performance, and ensuring the app provides a seamless user experience. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend developers, to define and execute the mobile application roadmap. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting and resolving issues, and you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Lead the development and maintenance of the Subway mobile app using React Native and native app capabilities.
• Mentor and guide junior developers and offshore consultants, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend developers, to create seamless and user-friendly app experiences.
• Architect and implement new features, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, and conduct code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring the app runs smoothly on both iOS and Android platforms.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the app remains competitive and innovative.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and best practices.
• Takes the initiative to fix issues proactively. Persistent in the face of roadblocks and pulls in others as necessary.
• Strong ability to estimate level of effort within their domain necessary to complete a project.
