Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN with BLS and NRP certifications for a Level 3 high-risk perinatal center in a teaching hospital setting.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit specializing in antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn careHigh-risk, Level 3 perinatal center with approximately 150 births per month and Level 4 NICU supportNight shift positions available, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, including weekends1 : 1 nurse-to-patient ratio with a second RN assigned as 'baby catcher' for routine deliveriesUnit has 2 dedicated ORs for C-sections and other surgical proceduresFloating to other units within the hospital may be required, but not to sister hospitalsUses Epic EMR systemScrubs of any color are permitted, with scrubs provided for OR useProvide comprehensive nursing care to childbearing women and newborns, including high-complexity and high-risk casesExpected to participate in OR procedures such as C-sections, BTLs, and postpartum D&CsNo call requirementsTravelers are expected to work at least one of three major holidays, with preference for Christmas coverageTime-off requests are limited and not allowed during orientation week; up to three non-consecutive RTO days may be taken outside of specified blackout periodsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyLocal candidates are accepted at the same rates as travelersTeaching hospital environment offers experience with a diverse and complex patient populationRequirements
Active WA or compact RN license, or evidence of pending licenseCurrent BLS and NRP certifications are requiredA minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience is required, with 3 years preferredAt least 2 previous travel assignments beyond the initial hospital experience are requiredExperience in a teaching hospital and trauma setting is preferred but not requiredCOVID vaccination and booster are required without exceptionEpic EMR experience is preferred but not mandatoryFormer employees must have at least 18 months of separation before returning as travelersBenefits
