Job Summary
The Custodian will perform on-site custodial work as outlined in contract specifications. Essential functions include cleaning assigned indoor and outdoor work areas including trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping / dust mopping, wet mopping, and disinfectant cleaning of restrooms. Additionally, the role involves assisting with periodical work such as stripping and sealing of floors, carpet cleaning, and window washing. The candidate must be able to learn and perform custodial procedures and techniques, use light and heavy custodial equipment, and attend all required agency meetings and training sessions. They must understand and consistently follow all required safety procedures and policies, convey a positive and professional image to employees and customers, relate to and understand the needs of disabled and disadvantaged individuals, and be able to lift up to fifty (50) lbs. with assistance over 50 lbs., always using the lifting belt correctly. The position requires the ability to work on feet for long periods of time and lift and move up and down stairs. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements include the ability to pass pre-screenings such as background or drug screenings. The position is considered essential personnel and will be required to report to work in inclement weather. Reliable transportation and the ability to get to the job site and other sites as needed are also required. Potential career paths include Custodian Supervisor.
