Assignment Dates: 02/23/2026 – 05/23/2026 (start date flexible)
Assignment Type: 13-week contract, temp-to-perm (opportunity to extend or go permanent based on business needs)
Pay Rate: $63.59/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: On-site in Detroit, MI (facility connected to the main hospital via covered bridge)
Review patient prescriptions to determine treatment requirements, affected areas, and prior radiation history.
Safely position patients using immobilization devices and prescribed treatment accessories.
Operate radiation treatment equipment (linear accelerator, HDR) with precision.
Administer ionizing radiation per physician prescription and verify total dosage in patient records.
Document treatments accurately in inpatient charts and localize patient markings daily.
Perform ongoing patient imaging in accordance with departmental policies.
Coordinate daily treatment appointments, including transportation and scheduling needs.
Refer patients to social workers, nurses, or physicians for counseling, medical equipment, or clinical evaluation as appropriate.
Assume simulation duties and rotate through treatment areas as assigned.
Maintain cleanliness of therapy rooms and ensure linen and medical supply availability.
Adhere to departmental quality assurance policies, including chart checks, timeouts, and machine warm-ups.
Teach and precept radiation therapy students in accordance with educational requirements.
Work closely with a newer clinical team and serve as a senior resource on shift.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree in Radiation Therapy (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
Current ARRT (T) Radiation Therapy Certification (or registry eligible)
Minimum 3 years of Radiation Therapist experience
Experience working independently and treating patients for the full shift
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with patient transfers
Willingness to work in an environment with potential radiation exposure while following strict safety protocols
Experience with Varian equipment and ARIA software
Strong teamwork, flexibility, and initiative
Comfort working with critically ill, terminally ill, or emotionally distressed patients
Interest in mentoring, precepting, and supporting new graduate staff
Strong customer service mindset and respect for diversity
Clinical treatment setting with limited exposure to noise or temperature extremes
Physical demands include patient lifting, moving wheelchairs/stretchers, and equipment handling
QA responsibilities are not required for this role; full-shift patient treatment focus
