About the Position
This part-time adjunct faculty position at Lone Star College involves teaching accounting courses, developing engaging lessons, and providing student support. The role is open for semester-by-semester teaching based on student demand.
Essential Job Functions
- Teach accounting courses at various times and locations.
- Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
- Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
- Use a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
- Meet with and advise students before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
- Evaluate students to measure progress in achieving course objectives and inform students timely.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.

The work is sedentary. Walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, and driving an automobile may be required.
Work Schedule and Conditions
Equipment used includes a PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment, and any specialized equipment standard within the discipline / industry.Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.Work is performed in a climate-controlled classroom and / or lab environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards.Hours will vary depending on class time; instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.Required Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 3 years non-teaching work experience in the field.Salary
$55.44 per contact hour.
