Groundskeeper II

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Assist in the coordination and supervision of subordinate Groundskeepers.
• Perform landscaping, grounds maintenance, and chemical application functions necessary to maintain City roadways, building sites, school grounds, and other municipal designated properties.
• Operate various types and sizes of landscape equipment.
• Use common garden and hand tools. Perform chemical and fertilizing applications.
• Operate a variety of motor equipment.
• Inventory management of tools and supplies.
• Assist in tree planting, landscape construction, mulching, mowing, and other landscape related duties as assigned.
• Perform athletic field maintenance to include mowing, irrigation, laying out fields, and chalking. Load and unload tools, equipment, dirt, gravel, clay, and sand weighing 50 to 100 pounds for projects.
• Maintain records on work and personnel assignments and accomplishments.
• Maintain detailed daily records of completed work.
• Work independently or with other personnel as assigned.

Work is performed outside in all weather conditions including temperature extremes.
