Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience

BLS certification required

Nursing degree from an accredited program

Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) check required

Reliable transportation required (no public transportation in Gunnison)

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care to expectant mothers during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery

Monitor vital signs and fetal heart rates; respond promptly to changes in patient condition

Assist with medical procedures and support physicians and midwives during childbirth

Educate patients and families about childbirth, lactation, and postpartum care

Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families

Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation

Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and newborns
