Darigold is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Controls Technician to join our plant maintenance team. The I&C Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the instrumentation and control systems critical to dairy manufacturing operations. This role supports the operation and reliability of automation systems across a facility that operates 24 / 7. The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Engineering, Production, Quality Systems, and Safety teams to ensure consistent performance and compliance of process control systems. What You Will Do
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
- Support Maintenance department as needed; controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and other automation equipment.
- Calibrate and maintain temperature, flow, pressure, pH, conductivity, and level measurement devices used in dairy processing and CIP systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and control system malfunctions in real time to minimize production downtime.
- Modify and update PLC / HMI programming in response to process improvements or equipment upgrades.
- Support capital projects and equipment installations, including integration of new instrumentation and controls.
- Ensure all control systems operate within defined process parameters to maintain product quality and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure proper operation and documentation of control systems.
- Maintain documentation of instrumentation schematics, wiring diagrams, calibration records, and control system configurations.
- Follow all plant safety procedures and electrical safety standards (e.g., Lockout / Tagout, arc flash, NFPA 70E).
- Assist with training and mentoring of maintenance personnel in control systems and instrumentation.
What You Bring :
Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLCs, HMIs, and control networks (Ethernet / IP, DeviceNet).Familiarity, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial sensors.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently under pressure and prioritize tasks.Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality.Education, Experience, and Certifications :
