- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets
- Conduct cash flow analysis and forecasting to ensure proper liquidity
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and post journal entries as needed
- Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
- Coordinate and assist with financial audits
- Participate in closing accounting books monthly (5 business day goal) and prepare applicable journal entries timely and accurately
- Perform general ledger account analysis and prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis
- Assist with annual audit from outside CPA Firm.
- Compile data and reports to support internal and external reporting
- Assist with daily cash management and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Assist in business process review to identify process improvements and maintain internal controls
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and other products
- Superior attention to detail and problem solving
- Able to work in a fast past and team-oriented environment.
- Mentor and train accounting staff as needed
Job Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 5 years' experience as a controller
- In-depth knowledge of financial services, regulations, and best practices
- Proficient in using accounting software such as Hyperion
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
