Responsibilities
A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is a healthcare professional who works under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to provide physical therapy services to patients. They assist the PT in the examination and treatment of patients, including helping to set goals, developing treatment plans, and carrying out interventions. PTAs work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, private practices, and nursing homes. One of the key responsibilities of a PTA is to assist the PT in the examination and treatment of patients. This may include helping to perform assessments, such as measuring range of motion and strength, and carrying out interventions, such as exercises and modalities. PTAs also work with patients to set and achieve goals, monitor progress, and make any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan. In addition to these responsibilities, PTAs may also be responsible for educating patients and families about their condition, providing guidance on home exercise programs, and working with other healthcare professionals as part of a team.
