About the Role
We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our client's growing construction company in Chandler, Arizona.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in both construction accounting and recurring revenue (ARR) management including job costing, WIP, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, improving systems, and leading a small accounting team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
What You'll Do
- Oversee all core accounting functions AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll.
- Manage month-end / year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze job cost and WIP reports; support accurate project billing and revenue recognition.
- Maintain compliance with sales tax filings and coordinate with the CPA firm on quarterly reviews and taxes.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.
- Manage maintenance and service contract accounting, including invoicing, renewals, deferred revenue, and profitability tracking.
- Partner with Service and Project Managers to align billing, renewals, and performance reporting.
- Oversee job cost accounting, budgeting, and tracking of labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
- Supervise and mentor the Accounting Clerk to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with leadership, operations, and sales teams to provide actionable financial insights.
- Improve accounting workflows, internal controls, and vendor payment processes (ACH, credit card, etc.).
- Optimize QuickBooks Online and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.57 years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in construction accounting.Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion accounting.Experience with recurring revenue accounting (e.g., maintenance or service agreements).Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (or similar ERP / accounting system).Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Bonus Points For :
