KPMG is looking for a Lead Actuarial Associate to strengthen our Audit practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized technical support to the actuarial management group for audit and advisory projects, especially in Life, Annuities, and Long-Duration Health Insurance.
- Conduct, review, and refine analytics, workpapers, and deliverables for clients and KPMG.
- Design and validate actuarial models using leading actuarial software such as Moody's Analytics' AXIS, Aon Pathwise, and FIS Prophet.
- Build and manage data applications that enhance actuarial processes related to financial reporting and advanced analytics.
- Serve as a key liaison between clients and senior management, while mentoring associates, new hires, and interns.
- Identify and clearly communicate technical matters to both clients and management, contributing to project planning, deliverable generation, and technical documentation.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of relevant actuarial experience in areas like actuarial auditing, financial reporting, or modeling.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a strong foundation in actuarial science, applied statistics, finance, insurance, and mathematics.
- Steady progress towards certification as an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
- Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Financial Reporting, and capital frameworks (e.g., RBC, EC, BSCR).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage multiple projects with minimal oversight.
- Comprehensive understanding of Life, Annuity, and Long-Duration Health Insurance products.
- Willingness to travel occasionally based on client needs.
- Awareness of business dynamics and operations, with supervisory experience preferred.
