Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in a Level 1 trauma, teaching hospital with DC licensure and required certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a Level 1 trauma, teaching hospital
  • Patient ratio is approximately 1 : 4-5
  • Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 : 30 to 20 : 00
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
  • No floating to other units required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Cerner Sorian 1st generation EMR system
  • Standard scrub color is royal blue
  • Work with a diverse, high-acuity patient population in a busy urban hospital
  • Staff support includes access to teaching and trauma resources
  • Must provide copy of driver’s license and Social Security card for onboarding
  • Return staff must have at least one year gap since previous employment
  • Accessible by public transportation with multiple parking options available at applicant's expense

    • Requirements

  • Active DC RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1.5 years of emergency department nursing experience required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications required
  • Completion of COVID-19 vaccination required prior to start
  • Physical ability to manage typical emergency department patient care
  • Two supervisor references required for consideration
