GHJ Search & Staffing is partnering with our client, a well-established organization based in Atlanta, Georgia, to recruit a Controller (CPA or equivalent) with strong experience in real estate, construction, and multi-entity environments (Trusts, LLCs, Corps, S Corps, PE).

Our client manages a diverse nine-figure portfolio spanning real estate, construction, private equity, and alternative investments. They have deep roots in the real estate development and management industry, having designed, developed, constructed, and managed upscale multifamily communities that have won numerous local, regional, and national awards.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Accounting

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.
• Maintain the general ledger for multiple entities.
• Record and analyze complex real estate transactions.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, cash forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Assist in maintaining consolidated cash flow and business strategy models, including IRR and cash-on-cash return analysis.
• Design and implement management reports and financial analysis tools.
• Collaborate with and manage outside tax consultants.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting processes.
• Oversee accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and contract administration.

Construction & Asset Management

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA or equivalent required.

510 years of progressive accounting experience, including real estate investment, development, and construction.

Big Four / public accounting background a plus.

Strong proficiency in Excel; advanced modeling skills (IRR, cash-on-cash).

Hands-on, action-oriented professional comfortable in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.

Effective communicator with executives and external advisors.

Experience with Sage and / or Yardi or similar real estate / accounting software strongly preferred.
