Role Overview :

We are seeking a brilliant and experienced Founding AI / ML Engineer to help build & architect our platform's intelligence. You will be a cornerstone of a lean, talent-dense, and fast-moving engineering team in San Francisco. This is a unique opportunity to build a new generation of recommendation and personalization engines from the ground up, pioneering the systems that will make our product uniquely intelligent and engaging.

We believe AI needs a new kind of interface one that shifts from reactive, one-off prompts to anticipatory, multi-step workflows that feel intuitive, approachable, and even magical.

This is a zero-to-one opportunity to redefine how people interact with AI over the next decade. We're taking on challenges with no precedent building a social graph for intelligence, designing AI-native user experiences, and shaping new consumer behavior on a global scale. Were assembling a small, top-tier founding team of 1012 engineers working from fully equipped, individual offices in South Park to create a product that blends psychology, recommendation systems, and cutting-edge AI into something truly transformative.

What Youll Do

• Architect & Build : Own the end-to-end creation of our core recommendation and personalization engine. You will design the system architecture, select the right models and technologies, and build it from the ground up.
• Pioneer with LLMs : Move beyond traditional recommendation models by designing, fine-tuning, and implementing novel systems that leverage the latest advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs) to understand user intent and content nuance in deeply sophisticated ways.
• Develop Complex Systems : Engineer and deploy robust, scalable systems that intelligently combine multiple models (e.g., LLMs, GNNs, collaborative filtering) to create a world-class user experience.
• Lead Technical Strategy : Define the vision and roadmap for personalization, discovery, and recommendations across the platform. You will be the expert voice, making key decisions that shape the future of our product.
• Hands-On Modeling : From data processing and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, and deployment, you will be hands-on throughout the entire machine learning lifecycle.
• Establish MLOps : Build the foundational infrastructure for data pipelines, model training, A / B testing, and real-time inference to ensure our systems are reliable, scalable, and continuously improving.
• Collaborate & Influence : Work closely with product, design, and engineering leaders to translate user needs into technical solutions and drive the integration of AI / ML into our core product features.
• Design for Scale : Architect a robust, resilient, and highly available technical stack capable of supporting millions of users and capable of reliably scaling to #1 App Store spot.
