Description :

Opticool Technologies is seeking a Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigerant-based cooling systems in mission-critical data center environments. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in HVAC and data center infrastructure, with hands-on training and growth opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the installation, startup, and commissioning of refrigerant-based cooling systems (e.g., CRAC / CRAH units, DX systems, split systems).
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting under the supervision of senior technicians.
  • Support refrigerant recovery, leak detection, and charging procedures in compliance with EPA regulations.
  • Document service activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and refrigerant usage.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures while working on-site at customer facilities.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in clean and working condition.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and technical development programs.

Travel is 50-75%

The hourly rate for this position is $24.00-$32.00 and hour however, Opticool Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education / training, and key skills. Requirements :

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school or HVAC certification preferred.
  • 2 plus years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (Type I or II) preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
