Job Details :

• Regular day shift schedule from , Monday through Friday- Primary role involves performing procedures at Lovelace Westside Hospital- See patients in clinic settings and perform procedures on existing patients or direct procedure referrals- Treat patients admitted through ED requiring gastroenterology intervention- Occasional coverage at other system facilities may be requested based on availability- Required skills include upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, and fulguration- Perform injection of varices and manage bleeding complications- Conduct lower GI procedures including flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy- Perform colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision capabilities- Must be proficient with endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)- Conduct liver biopsies and small bowel biopsies as needed- Interpret esophageal manometry studies- Manage insertion / maintenance of Sengstaken / Blakemore tubes- ERCP diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities preferred- Esophageal dilatation / manometry skills preferred- PEG placement capabilities preferred- Must have ACLS and BLS certifications- Board certification required- Assignment length of 2+ weeks depending on physician availability- Credentialing timeframe approximately 60-90 days
