Part-Time Human Resources Coordinator
The Massachusetts Health Policy Commission (HPC) seeks a part-time Human Resources Coordinator to assist with the daily operations of the agency's HR functions and duties, providing a wide range of HR support to management and employees.
Working closely with both the Director of Personnel and Chief Fiscal Officer, the Human Resources Coordinator will support HR data management; payroll, benefits, and leave administration; HR compliance; and records retention. The Human Resources Coordinator will liaise with the Commonwealth's Human Resources Department (HRD), the Group Insurance Commission, the State Retirement Board, and other vendor-supported benefit programs on behalf of the HPC.
The HPC operates a hybrid work schedule, with employees splitting their time between the downtown Boston office and remote work.
Duties of the position will include, but are not limited to :
- Process employment and payroll data in HR management platform
- Serve as point of contact for employees regarding benefits and assist with the annual enrollment process
- Assist employees with benefit enrollments and modifications in coordination with the Group Insurance Commission, the State Retirement Board, and other vendor-supported benefit programs
- Track and manage employee leaves of absence in compliance with federal and state requirements
- Ensure all HR records, employee files, and personnel records are maintained in compliance with regulations
Desired Qualifications :
Familiarity with state human resources and fiscal systems including HRCMS and MAGIC;Knowledge of Massachusetts state and federal employment law;Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience that has equipped the applicant with the competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the position;Strong capability to take initiative, be self-motivated, have a desire to learn on the job, and be a responsible team player;Demonstrated ability to learn and use HR-related systems and platforms;Excellent organizational and time management skills and an ability to be flexible in reprioritizing assigned tasks;An individual of unquestionable ethics and professionalism, with an interest in public service and an ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality;Strong attention to detail, judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;A commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace that promotes collaboration amongst diverse viewpoints, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts; andA strong interest in public service and desire to advance a more transparent, accountable, and equitable health care system for all Massachusetts residents.Compensation Range $40-$60 per hour worked, up to 18 hours of work a week.
Salary is commensurate with experience. The HPC may adjust title, responsibilities, and compensation depending on the experience and expertise of the individual selected. This position is not eligible for benefits other than sick leave.
