About You
Your contribution
As a team member of the Benefits Department, the Benefits Lead will assist with the administration of health and welfare employee benefit programs, assuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulation. This associate will present information to inform and educate associates at various levels. The Lead provides benefit plan interpretation, guidance and counsel to corporate associates and retail benefit contacts. This associate explains benefits and assists in the business development and planning processes with service providers. In addition, this team member compiles, analyzes and reports data including employee metrics as well as plan financials for strategic benefits planning and evaluation. The Lead serves as a liaison with service providers in business planning and benefit program interpretation.This position is located in Edison, NJ.
What you’ll do
- Monitors eligibility, limitations, and restrictions of plan participation and ensures compliance with both plan provisions and government requirements.
- Provides guidance and counsel to associates on the requirements and provisions of benefit programs and assists with the resolution of potential problems.
- Develops, conducts and participates in a variety of presentations to inform and educate associates about changes to benefit plans, administrative practices and legislated requirements and programs.
- Assists in the development of business processes.
- Monitors plan limits, eligibility and other restrictions on plan participation to ensure compliance with both plan provisions and government requirements.
- Supports the administration of COBRA compliance.
- Researches current benefit trends.
- Compiles, analyzes and reports benefit data including employee, benefit plan and financial.
- Supports various Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance requirements
- Assists with the development and maintenance of departmental procedures
- Completes ad hoc reporting as requested
- Presents benefit information to new hires at company orientations
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with HR, Payroll, CISD and other departments on complex projects, and works with these key team members in times of system upgrades and changes.
- Supports benefits delivery in the HCM system by updating rates, verifying eligibility and troubleshooting any issues
- Analyze and document functional requirements and translate them into the HCM system
- Partner with leaders in the development, testing and implementation of any enhancements and system updates in the HCM system
- Generate and support benefits reporting requests from the HCM system
What we’re looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field with an emphasis in business or finance, or equivalent year’s professional / analytical experience related to the described duties listed above.3-5 years of progressive experience in benefits administration, HRIS systems, and reporting toolsDemonstrated knowledge of employee benefit programs, including flexible benefit programs, financial analysis and budgetingExtensive knowledge of employee benefits and compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA and similar Federal, State legislationStrong understanding of HCM system and processesAbility to influence and communicate effectively to enable effective utilization of the HCM systemExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience utilizing PeopleSoft and Dayforce strongly preferredAbility to work independently showing a strong level of discretionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExceptional customer service and presentation skills with the ability to deal tactfully and professionallyAbility to manage multiple projects and work under deadlines with changing prioritiesStrong PC skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPointExcellent organizational skills to develop / maintain reporting "standards" where applicableProject management experience to oversee various projectsAbility to perform mathematical calculations in computing rates, premiums and adjustments.Willingness to challenge the current processes to increase efficiencies and deliver superior service to our internal customersHow you’ll succeed

The salary range for this position is : $75,000 - $90,000 per year.
Placement in the range depends on several factors, including experience, skills, education, geography, and budget considerations. Additional experience may warrant additional compensation.
