The posted compensation range of $26.04 - $32.68 / hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Under the direction of the Management Team, the Medical Assistant (MA) administers direct patient care in accordance with physicians' orders and under the supervision of a licensed physician who must be in the department during the performance of MA duties. The MA is responsible for checking patients in to the clinic and performing vital signs, weight, pulse oximetry and annual outpatient assessment prior to scheduled visit. Assists the physician during minor medical procedures. Administers medications as ordered by the physician and verified by RN or MD. The MA is also responsible for patient check out ensuring that MD orders are carried out prior to patients' departure. The MA is required to document all patient contact in the medical record. FRONT OFFICE : Under the direction of the Management Team, the Medical Assistant may be asked to coordinate front office functions such as correspondence, copying, filing, managing telephones, collecting all demographic and financial information as applicable, running patient insurance status through established protocols, attaching appropriate paper work to charts, scheduling of patient appointments, and other support activities that assist the medical and ancillary staff. The front office medical assistant assists patients as they call or come into the clinic for appointments by being courteous and referring them as appropriate.
A minimum of two years experience in an outpatient clinic setting. Ability to speak Spanish highly desirable. Must be at least 18 years of age and is able to provide a certificate indicating satisfactory completion of training by an accredited or approved institution for medical assistants. BLS for HealthCare Provider required.
