Training / Development Specialist

Prepare and / or conduct training programs, teach classes, hold seminars and discussion groups. Design and deliver programs to train all levels of personnel. Develop tests and visual aids, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Formulate teaching outline in conformance with selected instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such training methods as individual coaching, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.

Responsibilities

• Keeps abreast of training and development research : learn theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques
• Develop in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments
• May evaluate and / or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and / or administer training programs
• Develop e-learning programs
• Confer with management, employees and clients to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies
• Formulate teaching outline and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops
• Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works
• Facilitate the execution of all training programs
• Monitor training costs to ensure budget is not exceeded, and prepares budget reports to justify expenditures
