CNC Manufacturing Process Programmer (Multi‑Axis)
Imagine launching a new implant component : you architect the process, choose the fixturing, map out multi‑axis strategies in CAD / CAM, and then stand at the machine to verify every move. The result? Reliable, efficient programs that keep our mission of Life Unlimited moving.
Your impact
- Author and maintain advanced multi‑axis CNC programs with CAD / CAM to manufacture precision parts.
- Define the machining process— chucking / fixturing, tool selection and layout, and feeds / speeds—driving standardization and tool life.
- Lead machine‑side prove‑outs and validate programs for release.
- Write clear work instructions; supervise machining process validations and train operators.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development Engineering, plant teams, and external partners to solve problems and deliver on schedule.
- Safeguard program integrity by managing the master CNC program directory with strict file management.
- Deliver and report on cost‑saving improvements.
- Plan, coordinate, and assign programming tasks to fellow programmers when required.
- Contribute to the design of jigs, tools, fixtures, and special‑purpose CNC equipment.
- Maintain and promote current CNC programming standards.
- Recommend new equipment to enhance capability and throughput.
- Follow programming file management procedures and applicable Quality Specifications to ensure QMS compliance.
- Mentor programmers and machinists as a recognized authority.
- Drive cross‑functional improvements and kaizen initiatives.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; college / technical degree preferred.At least 5 years of CNC programming experience, including 3+ years using CAD / CAM.Required expertise : Unigraphics for multi‑axis milling and PartMaker for multi‑axis lathe programming.Ability to adapt to normal scheduling and urgent needs to keep parts flowing; work may arise from on‑the‑shop‑floor opportunities.Excellent documentation skills and clear verbal communication.Strong math skills, including trigonometry, and the analytical ability to resolve shop challenges.Physical requirements : walking and standing about 50% of the time; bending, squatting, and reaching about 10%.Bonus : Prior machinist experience.Skills & tools
