Position Summary :

Under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer, the Per Diem Part Time Assistant Athletic Trainer assists the Head Athletic Trainer with the preventative care, injury evaluation, first aid, treatment and rehabilitation of all student-athletes and athletic teams as assigned.

Essential Functions :

• Athletic Training Activities : This function finds its incumbent providing a full array of services related to proper running of the athletic training program. By way of illustration and not limitation, this function :
• Administers first aid treatment to injured varsity athletes. (CPR, bandages, basic first aid).
• Assists in development of an injury prevention program (tapes ankles, stretching exercises, massages, etc.)
• Assists Head Athletic Trainer in providing athletic training coverage for all varsity practices and home games.
• Provides guidance and assistance to student-athletes on a range of personal issues, as required.
• Assists in monitoring and coordinating training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained..
• Directs injured players, as needed to obtain medical treatment.
• Determines suitability of injured athletes to continue sports participation.
• Assists through treatment, best way for athlete to return to active participation.
• Represents the athletics program to various institutional programs and to government agencies, funding agencies, students, parents and the general public.
• NCAA Compliance : Knowledge of and adherence to all applicable NCAA rules, regulations, bylaws, constitutions and related university rules, regulations and policies.

Salary Information :

In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate / range for this position is $XX-$XX (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
