Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment is seeking a Staff Accountant to work for a Not for Profit organization in Queens, NY.

This is a Full Time, Immediate Opportunity!

Position Overview :

Under general direction, the Financial Analyst / Accountant is responsible for providing strategic financial analysis and forecasting to support agency operations and budgeting. This role involves preparing financial presentations, conducting capital expenditure and cost-benefit analyses, modeling revenue projections, and performing ad hoc reporting. The ideal candidate will deliver actionable insights to agency leadership through detailed general ledger reviews, industry comparisons, and scenario-based forecasting.

Key Responsibilities :

The Financial Analyst / Accountant will

• Maintain monthly fixed asset schedules and post adjusting journal entries as needed.
• Prepare and manage balance sheet schedules for the organization and create accounts payable trend analyses to identify outstanding invoices.
• Analyzing current and historical trends in key performance indicators across revenue, expenses, capital expenditures, and loan documents.
• Monitor budgets, investigate variances, and provide timely recommendations to improve financial performance.
