Founded in 1981, Operation Food Search is a hunger relief organization that provides food, nutrition education and innovative programs in order to reduce food insecurity and increase equitable access to food. We serve 200,000 people every month through a network of 330 partners in 25 counties in Missouri and Illinois. We use a combination of immediate food assistance and supportive services, while also working on long-term solutions and systemic changes to help solve the problem of hunger.

Position Summary :
The Director of Distribution and Warehousing is a key leadership role overseeing all aspects of OFS's food distribution, warehousing, and inventory operations. This position ensures the smooth, efficient, and equitable movement of millions of pounds of food to our network of community partners each year. The Director leads a dynamic team, develops systems and processes, and champions a culture of safety, innovation, and compassion.
Essential Functions :
Lead all distribution activities, including food warehousing, inventory management, and transportation logistics, to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely service delivery.
Supervise, train, and develop warehouse staff, drivers, and inventory coordinators, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and accountability.
Maintain full compliance with food safety requirements, USDA and TEFAP regulations, and all applicable standards to ensure safe handling, storage, and distribution of food products.
Oversee warehouse layout and design, ensure facility cleanliness, coordinate equipment maintenance, and enforce safety policies and procedures that promote a secure and efficient work environment.
Maintain optimal use of the warehouse management system (WMS), ensuring accuracy of data and continuous improvement in operational processes and efficiency.
Collaborate closely with Programs and Agency Services to ensure partner agencies and community programs receive equitable, high-quality, and timely food distributions.
Track, analyze, and report key operational metrics.
