Job Overview :

Join our innovative team as a Materials Science Engineer II, where you will play a crucial role in the research, planning, and testing of materials that drive our R&D, supply chain, and operational initiatives. Collaborate with our operations team to assess manufacturing processes and identify continuous improvement opportunities across Marvin's manufacturing locations. Explore new and innovative materials and methods while enhancing our material validation and inspection techniques in a cost-effective manner. Your contributions will directly support the development and enhancement of our products to exceed Marvin's goals.

Highlights of your Role :

  • Materials Qualification : Conduct research, tests, and assist in selecting materials for the manufacturing of our premium windows and doors. Develop test plans to validate designs and act as a technical liaison with the materials acquisition team, suppliers, and design teams.
  • Materials Testing : Plan and execute testing of materials to support qualification and continuous improvement initiatives with our operations and materials supplier teams.
  • Technical Support : Provide expert technical guidance related to materials for various departments throughout the company.

You're a Great Fit If You Have :

  • A B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy, Bioproducts Engineering, or a related engineering or science field with a materials focus.
  • Technical understanding of materials composition, behavior, manufacturing processes, and application assessment.
  • Knowledge of statistical test planning, Design of Experiments (DOE), and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with materials analysis techniques and testing methods related to polymers, wood, coatings, metallurgy, and / or glass.

    Compensation : $81,000 - $108,000 annually
