Job descriptionThis worker will be trained and licensed on the operation of hand or power trucks and MHE for performing warehousing duties. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, snow, and sleet. Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, and other established guidelines Must be able to lift 40 pounds Veterans, Military Spouses, Women, Minorities and Individuals with Disabilities are encouraged to apply. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks related to the position.
Work involves most of the following :
- Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents
- Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages
- Routing materials to prescribed storage locations
- Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods
- Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials
- Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage
- Constructing and repairing boxes, pallets, wood bracing to be used in shipping and storage, as needed.
- Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
