Medical Assistant - Dermatology - AMP (La Jolla)
This is a benefited, full-time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Shift hours may vary based on need. Located at the Anderson Medical Pavilion on the Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla campus, but may float to other sites as needed.

What you'll do :
Assisting with inpatient dermatology visitsFront and back office dutiesPerform patient intakesScribing for the dermatologistAssisting with diagnostic testing, phototherapy, and surgical proceduresCompleting clerical duties including scheduling patient visits, taking supply inventory, and managing medication authorization approvalsFloat to other sites within the specialty depending upon department needsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, and organize and perform patient care services that support the physician's practiceAssisting in preparing patients for examination / proceduresAssisting physicians with proceduresRelaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized personCollecting patient data in person and by phone and documenting patient concerns, messages, and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's reviewAdministering medications specifically directed by the physicianPerforming vital sign documentationScheduling of appointments and proceduresComplete and accurate message takingRouting messages to the appropriate area for directionOrder and referral entryAcquisition of pre-certificationsSetting up of cases in EPICBasic registration and updating of demographicsRequired Qualifications :
Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program or a minimum of two years of experience as a Military Corpsman or Medical Assistant CertificationBLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)Preferred Qualifications :
One year of previous MA experience in the given departmentExperience assisting with procedures
