Job Summary :

As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide essential support in patient care, assisting with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, elimination, and safety. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Documenting patient care accurately in health records according to established guidelines.
  • Completing patient intake tasks such as recording vital signs, height, weight, and completing personal belongings documentation.
  • Responding promptly to call lights and addressing resident needs.
  • Performing regular rounds to ensure resident comfort and safety.
  • Repositioning residents regularly to prevent discomfort and related complications.
  • Measuring and recording intake and output, reporting any significant changes to the Charge Nurse.
  • Assisting with medical procedures as directed by the Charge Nurse.
  • Monitoring and maintaining supplies and equipment on the unit.
  • Interacting positively with team members and other healthcare professionals to provide the best care possible.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and professionally handling sensitive information.
  • Giving thorough reports to the Charge Nurse at the end of each shift.
  • Qualifications :

  • High school diploma preferred, not required.
  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant certification in your state.
  • CPR certification required or willingness to obtain within six months of employment.
  • Experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and transfer patients weighing over 200 pounds safely.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for optimal patient care.
  • Ability to perform documentation tasks in writing or using technology.
  • Visual ability to distinguish colors and maintain accurate records.
  • Compensation : Pay ranges from $16.08 to $25.24 per hour, reflecting experience and skills.
