The Medical Assistant will administer and coordinate medical services necessary while creating a positive patient experience within the facility. The role will also be responsible for performing routine administrative and clinical responsibilities.
Requirements :
- High School Diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma)
- Experience as a medical assistant; Two (2) years’ experience or knowledge in the field of behavioral health preferred.
- CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) preferred.
- Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the state employed.
- Ability to administer medications.
- Experience performing blood draws.
Responsibilities :
Works as part of the intake team to ensure patients are seen promptly.Observe urine samples for urine drug screens, test onsite and package for laboratory for confirmation testing.Obtain vital signs and report findings to nurse when needed.Obtain blood samples for standard blood testing onsite and package for the laboratory.Communicate all relevant information to the leadership team regarding patients and the facility.Make appointments for patients to see physicians, counselors, and case managers, and provide lab work and referrals for additional follow-up care.May be responsible for cash collection and daily balancing.Maintain security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, checking in visitors, etc.May be responsible for coordinating appointments for patients.Maintain and keep updated all medical records and documentation pertaining to the patients in the EHR as well as in any lab required software programsOther duties as assigned.Benefits :
