Reporting to the Vice President, Colorado & State Government Lead, Government & Community Affairs ("GCA"), District 4, this role has responsibility for local governmental policy and advocacy matters for Colorado. Assists in developing and implementing city legislative strategies, monitors ordinances, and assists in facilitation of state and local government-facing business initiatives. This role will closely coordinate with the state lead on state and local membership organizations. Assists with corporate initiatives and works with state GCA to coordinate community affairs activities.

Core responsibilities include : assisting in developing and implementing city government advocacy strategies, monitoring ordinances, and local government affairs activity; assisting in building strategies and tactics to effectively advocate for company priorities in all levels of local government; developing and maintaining relationships with government representatives and regulators at the local level; monitoring local legislative activity affecting Comcast NBCUniversal business interests; assisting in facilitation of state and local government-facing business initiatives; and providing guidance and support at all management levels to ensure consistent and sound local government policy and enhance communication with local officials in all levels of government.

Professional experience and qualifications include familiarity with key areas of technology and / or telecommunications policy; progressively responsible experience in government affairs related disciplines working with city councils, mayors, legislators, government agencies, political campaigns, or associations with recent experience; strong team player and willingness to assist department in various tasks; ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities and possess good organization skills; ability to maintain confidentiality and represent Comcast in a positive, professional manner; ability to build relationships as well as work collaboratively to build consensus and positive buy-in / support for initiatives; strong presentation and communication skills, able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization both in written and oral form; proven project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; exceptional time management and strong eye for detail; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; travel required : 25-30%; education level : bachelor's degree; years experience : 5+ years related experience.
