Position Summary : Barber-Nichols relies on suppliers for prototype and production success on complex products with challenging requirements. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that suppliers provide high-quality materials and components that meet or exceed requirements. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, manages supplier quality performance, and leads quality improvement initiatives.

As the primary owner of supplier quality, the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer has a crucial opportunity to shape the success of Barber-Nichols and our customers in critical space, advanced energy, and defense applications.

Requirements :

Key Responsibilities :

• Issue Resolution :
• Act as the primary contact for quality issues related to suppliers, facilitating prompt resolution of non-conformances.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for supplier-related quality problems.
• Lead or support containment activities for supplier escapes.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that quality issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
• Supplier Management :
• Maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure standards are met.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
• Quality and First-Pass Yield (FPY) Improvement :
• Analyze supplier quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on supplier performance and quality.
• Lead and Manage Source Inspection process & events, in conjunction with Quality Control.
• Complete other duties as required by Supply Chain leadership.

Qualifications :

ITAR Requirements : To conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), applicants for employment at Barber-Nichols must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e., current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1157-1158. Security clearance is not required for this position.

Compensation and Benefits :

The salary range for this role is $105,000. - $120,000. This range represent the anticipated minimum and maximum base + bonus for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant’s qualifications (education, training and / or experience related to this role), and therefore, may fall outside the range shown, depending on the circumstances.
