Credentialed Veterinary Technician
Piscataqua Animal Hospital – Kittery, ME
Are you ready to make a splash in your veterinary career? At Piscataqua Animal Hospital in scenic Kittery, Maine, we’re on the hunt for a dedicated Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our warm-hearted, high-quality care team. Whether you’re placing IVs like a pro or comforting a nervous pup with your calm confidence — this role is your sweet spot.
Why you’ll love us
Here’s the vibe : we’re not a flashy, “we answer phones in neon suits” sort of place. We’re a tight-knit group of animal lovers who do top-tier medicine and actually enjoy coming to work. Our team has been around long enough to know what kind of coffee the office dog prefers, and we’ve built a reputation for delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our community. We believe in mentoring one another, encouraging growth, and celebrating the little wins (yes, even when a cat behaves for pedicure time).
We serve the Seacoast region with thoughtful veterinary care—from wellness to surgery—and our clients say we treat their pets like family.
What your role will look like
Be the backbone of patient care : you’ll perform diagnostic sample collection, catheter placements, venipunctures, dental radiology, radiography — you name it.
Assist our vets during exams, surgeries, and treatments, making sure our patients get the focused, high-quality care our name is built on.
Advocate for patients (yes, even the ones who pretend they “don’t need” their front-leg bandage) and help our client-families understand what’s going on and why it matters.
Guide, mentor, and support other team members—sharing your skills and building our collective strength.
Commit to continual learning : medicine evolves, we evolve. You’ll have opportunities to advance your knowledge and career alongside us.
What we’re hoping you bring
A Credentialed Veterinary Technician license (or equivalent state certification) — ready to roll with minimum ~2 years’ experience in a small-animal clinical setting.
Solid technical know-how : you know your way around catheter placements, drug calculations, CRIs, radiography, etc.
Real-talk communication skills : you can explain things clearly to clients, connect with pets who bark, meow, purr or give you that “I’m hiding” glare, and collaborate seamlessly with our team.
Time-management ninja skills : multiple tasks, changing priorities, and still making it all feel smooth and intentional.
A patient, positive attitude—because keeping your cool during a frantic “there’s fur in the coffee again” morning means you’re our kind of person.
Ability to lift and restrain pets up to ~40 lbs and stand / on-your-feet most of the day. You should be comfortable shifting gears as needed and staying detail-oriented in a high-quality-care environment.
Perks & benefits (yes, there are perks)
A supportive environment where your voice and growth matter.
A fantastic team culture : mentorship, collaboration, lots of learning (and a little humor).
Exposure to a broad scope of veterinary services in a strong community-oriented practice.
We believe you deserve work–life balance, meaningful work, and a place where you feel valued.
If you’re ready to bring your skills, your heart, and your enthusiasm for exceptional vet-care to a group of people who have your back (and a few jokes too), then we’d love to meet you.
Join us at Piscataqua Animal Hospital — where cats may rule the keyboard and dogs will hold the leash…but we all hold a deep respect for excellent patient care.
