Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg and ED swing position in an acute critical access hospital, requiring a compact or IA RN license and certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care, critical access hospital on a Med / Surg unit with swing coverage to the Emergency Department14-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1 : 5-6Common patient diagnoses include CHF, pneumonia, and skilled rehab patients, with occasional progressive cardiac or diabetic careNo titration of drips required except for antibioticsCharge nurse present on each shift; nurse aides (1 : 10 ratio) provide support12-hour night shifts, including every third weekend and rotating holiday coverage with core staffFloating required to the ED for supportUses Epic EMR systemTwo shifts of unit-specific orientation providedNavy blue scrubs requiredProvide quality care as part of a small, experienced interdisciplinary team in a critical access settingMust be comfortable working independently with fewer resources and able to prioritize patient care effectivelyTeam members are expected to be flexible, adaptable, and confident in their clinical skillsTravelers are integrated into a supportive environment with a five-star quality focusArtificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areasHoliday coverage is assigned as needed alongside staffAll requested time off must be declared up front; additional requests will not be approvedRequirements
Active IA or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 2 years recent RN experienceCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCCMust be able to pass a pass / fail open book exam on orientation with a minimum score of 90%Applicants must reside at least 50 miles from the facility as verified by driver’s licenseCannot have worked in full time, part time, or PRN capacity at any CommonSpirit facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the last yearCopy of driver’s license required for considerationReferences : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 yearsBenefits
