TITLE OF POSITION : Substitute Teacher for Miriam School
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Substitute certificate for the state of Missouri or Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience in or willingness to provide educational services to high school students who have educational disabilities or learning difficulties.
- Experience in providing educational services to children and / or adolescents who have educational disabilities or learning difficulties.
- Ability to learn and use computer and web based programs consistently including Outlook, Word, Excel, Sharepoint, and Spedtrack.
REPORTS TO : The Substitute Teacher will report to the Assistant Principal.
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing instruction and managing the learning environment according to the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher. The Substitute Teacher will be working with students in grades K-8. The Substitute Teacher will be responsible for the student in the classroom they are assigned and any other additional duties; lunch, recess, and other added activities.
STATUS : As needed for coverage when a Teacher or a Teacher Assistant is out for the day / s.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Review with the Assistant Principal the plans and schedules to be adhered to during the school day depending on what teacher they are covering and the age of the student.Follow the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher and anything additional that may be covered by the Assistant Principal.Maintain the established routines of the students and procedures of the school and classroom to which the teacher is assigned.Interact in a professional manner with the students, supporting teachers, and the administrative team.Encourage, monitor, and promote student progress.Maintain student confidentiality where needed. If something needs to be discussed, cover all matters with the Assistant Principal.Adhere to all procedures, guidelines, and policies followed by the classroom teacher which will be in line with recommended teaching procedures.Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher.
