Operate advanced screening equipment to identify dangerous items in baggage, cargo, and on passengers.Conduct thorough screenings and searches, which may include pat-downs and bag / property inspections.Safely lift and carry bins, bags, and property weighing up to 50 lbs.Control terminal entry and exit points, providing directions and assistance to travelers.Remain focused under high-pressure situations with distractions such as alarms and large crowds.Adhere to TSA protocols and adapt to changing procedures.Minimum Qualifications (Meet One) :
Education : High school diploma or equivalent (GED / HiSET / TASC)Experience : 1 year of full-time work in security, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician. Both paid and volunteer experiences are recognized, with part-time experience credited proportionally.Requirements to Be Hired :
U.S. Citizen or U.S. NationalAt least 18 years old at the time of applicationPass the TSA computer-based test (CBT)Be prepared to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periodsHiring Process :
If you meet the minimum qualifications, you will be required to take the TSA computer-based test (TAB CBT), which assesses attention to detail, object recognition, and reading comprehension. Performing well on this test greatly enhances your chances of being hired.
