Job Description
Summary
The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and / or Medical Assistants with the examination and treatment of UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for our UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

Other responsibilities include
Medical Team Support : Collaborate with the ordering / treating Provider to determine which procedures or views will best assist in accurate diagnoses and treatment. Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly.
Patient Care : Explaining procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety, and answering their questions.
Patient Positioning : Accurately positioning patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.
Image Production : Selecting proper ionizing factors by adjusting / setting radiographic controls to capture clear, high-quality diagnostic images
Equipment Maintenance : Performing routine maintenance, cleaning of X-ray equipment, and managing necessary supplies.
Radiation Safety : Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols and implementing ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
Documentation : Maintaining accurate patient records and logging completed procedures in electronic systems and / or logbooks as required.
Image Management : Verifying image quality and ensuring images are sent to radiologists for interpretation.
