JOB TITLE : Aircraft Electrical Mechanic Level 3 (Defense) Onsite Interview Required

LOCATION : San Antonio, TX

PAY RATE : $40 / hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Type : Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

Clearance : Secret clearance required (post start).

Qualifying Questions :

Are you a U.S. person as defined under ITAR regulations?

Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role?

Can you commute to the job location or relocate if necessary?

Summary :

Perform connector terminations (shielded wires, coaxial cables, fiber optic wiring)

Route, seal, wrap, bond, tie, and close wire harnesses / cables per standard processes

Read / interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements for modifications and repairs

Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level wiring modifications / repairs

Assemble, install, inspect, and modify wire bundles and electrical assemblies

Perform operational / quality checks of aircraft systems

Troubleshoot electrical and comm / nav systems at both organizational and depot levels

Follow standard work instructions, charts, wire diagrams, sketches, and verbal / electronic orders

Use equipment safely and per procedures; move / coordinate materials and tools

Operate elevating equipment as needed

Maintain required certifications / licenses and perform duties of lower electrical classifications as necessary

Requirements :

Secret clearance required (post start).

A comprehensive third-party background investigation will be conducted, including finances, residence and employment history, prior military service, drug use, and criminal record.

High School Diploma or GED

10+ years of experience with electrical / electronic theories and avionics systems

10+ years of experience with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, SOPs

10+ years of experience in component / wire installation, repair, modification, testing, and troubleshooting (including new and experimental systems)

Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, and overtime

Regular, predictable attendance is required.

Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Physical Requirements :

Climb / descend ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 35 lbs (with 2-person assist >

50 lbs)

Work in elevated areas with frequent standing, walking, balancing, reaching, and bending

Tolerate exposure to noise, metals, and hazardous materials

Pass visual acuity and color perception tests

Use required PPE (face, eyes, ears, hands, arms)

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English

Maintain training certifications as required

Preferred Qualifications :

Avionics experience

Depot-level / modification maintenance experience

Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and elevating equipment

FAA Airframe and / or Powerplant certification
