Cardiovascular Clinician Scientist Opportunity : Lead the Future of Cardiovascular Care and Research

The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking an outstanding and motivated clinician-scientist to join our renowned cardiovascular team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of heart care and cardiovascular research at one of the nations top academic institutions. This full-time position, located at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, offers a dynamic and innovative environment. Whether tenure-track or non-tenure-track, this role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading institution poised to become a premier destination for cardiovascular care and groundbreaking research.

As part of our team, you will provide exceptional clinical care in cardiovascular medicine, serving a diverse patient population. You will also have the opportunity to lead and collaborate on groundbreaking cardiovascular research, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources. Additional responsibilities include mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, helping to shape the next generation of cardiologists and researchers. You will participate in and contribute to educational activities such as lectures, seminars, and conferences, and engage with multidisciplinary research teams to drive innovation in areas like cardio-oncology, heart failure, interventional cardiology, and cardiovascular genomics.

Required Qualifications :

  • Medical Degree (MD, DO, or equivalent)
  • Board certification or eligibility in Cardiovascular Medicine
  • Extensive experience in clinical care with a strong commitment to advancing research in cardiovascular medicine
  • Demonstrated academic accomplishments, including publications, securing research funding, and leadership roles in cardiology
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas of interest :
  • Cardiac prevention and precision medicine
  • Heart failure
  • Vascular medicine
  • Integrating artificial intelligence into clinical care
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring future physicians
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
