Senior Capital Accountant
The Senior Capital Accountant reports to the Director of Capital Accounting to perform intermediate accounting duties which relate to fixed assets, the largest balance sheet reporting line, and accounting standards. This position is responsible for capital accounting to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Duties and Responsibilities
Completes month-end close responsibilities.Engages in advanced capital account analysis and journal entries that require detailed analysis and understanding.Coordinate accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposals of assets, ensuring compliance with company policies for the fixed asset tracking process.Reconciles the fixed asset sub-ledger.Utilize professional judgement to analyze capital projects, ensuring compliance with capitalization policies.Completes high-level projects requiring research, analysis, and professional judgement, primarily for construction and development projects.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate asset information and advice on asset-related issues.Support audits by providing data and documentation.Provide support to team members on capital-related inquiries and training new team members on fundamental procedural expectations.Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or related field required.5+ years of experience in an accounting related field required.Advanced knowledge of GAAP and fixed asset accounting required.Preferred Qualifications
Yardi experience preferredIntermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel preferredReal estate construction accounting experience preferredSage Premier Depreciation experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
