Job Title : Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) Urgent Care

Full Time

FLSA Status : Exempt

Position Summary :

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) to join our private practice Urgent Care team. The APP will provide high-quality, evidence-based, and compassionate care to patients of all ages presenting with acute, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to excellent patient service.

Key Responsibilities :

Clinical Care

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of urgent and primary care conditions in patients across the lifespan
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., EKG, X-ray, labs)
  • Prescribe medications and administer treatments in accordance with practice guidelines and scope of practice
  • Perform in-office procedures such as wound care, suturing, abscess drainage, splinting, and basic orthopedics
  • Provide patient education on diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care
  • Recognize conditions requiring higher-level care and arrange appropriate transfers when necessary

Workflow & Documentation

  • Utilize EMR to document clinical encounters, orders, and follow-up plans accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with coding, billing, and documentation regulations
  • Participate in chart reviews and quality assurance activities
  • Team Collaboration

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, front office, and support personnel
  • Participate in huddles and staff meetings
  • Provide supervision or consultation as required by state law and practice policies
  • Qualifications :

    Education & Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Active and unrestricted state license to practice as an NP or PA
  • National board certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA)
  • Current DEA license and prescriptive authority
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification (required or willing to obtain)
  • Experience

  • Minimum of 1–2 years in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care preferred
  • Experience with EMR systems and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
