Job description

Director Of Primary Care

Praxis Health is seeking a Director of Primary Care for our Northeast Oregon Region! The leadership role is part of a team that provides clinical support for NE Oregon family medicine and urgent care clinics. This position will be responsible for a NE Oregon region, and its profit and loss performance, team engagement, continued transition to a value-based patient care model, and creating a delightful patient experience. The ideal individual for this position is growth-oriented with a track-record of healthcare leadership and is ready to take on managing the primary care market in the assigned region for Praxis Health.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following and must be completed with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Designs region specific objectives and relevant initiatives that support corporate strategy.
  • Demonstrates expertise, while serving as an open-minded leader with an entrepreneurial mentality.
  • Inspires out of the box thinking by the team who will create opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Attracts and recruits medical providers and supports ancillary services in an employment, partnership, or management model.
  • Interprets available data to make informed decisions as it relates to predictive analytics, AI models, and operational dashboards.
  • Supports clinic operations and supervises multiple direct reports including clinic administrators, nurse care coordinators, and physicians / APPs.
  • In accordance with the CEO, develops and implements strategic initiatives.
  • Cultivates a diverse and high-functioning team of supervisors and managers.
  • Manages a budget that ensures profitability and focuses on cost containment strategies.
  • Represents the organization with local and state agencies that may impact our ability to be successful.
  • Monitors local, state, and national health care environment for threats or opportunities and implements adaptive strategies.
  • Ensures compliance with Certified Rural Health Clinic requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with Patient Centered Medical Home (PCPCH) model.
  • Ensures successful execution of quality-based payment models.
  • Attends work regularly and is punctual.
  • Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
  • Adheres to all company policies and is a role model of professionalism within the company.
  • Perform other duties as the needs of the company evolve and change.

    This is Oregon Trail country, rich in Native American history, the pioneer spirit, Western tradition, and family wheat farms. Pendleton is also home to the famed Pendleton Round-up Rodeo; the legendary Pendleton Woolen Mills; and Hamley & Co. Western Store, long known for its fine leather, tack and clothing.

    Pendleton Family Medicine is part of Praxis Health, the largest independent medical group in Oregon. Praxis is a family of smaller medical groups and clinics providing high quality healthcare throughout the state.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in health care administration, Business Administration, Health Administration, or a licensed Healthcare professional with management experience.
  • 5 Years' experience managing employees in a clinical setting.

  • Ambitious, dissatisfied with the status-quo eager to lead toward positive growth and rapid change.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills applied to effectively communicating strategic plan to employees, vendors, patients, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work well with departmental heads, supervisors and other regional administrators. Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and take effective action.
  • Ability to bring about improved and innovative processes through management and implementation of technology.
  • Ability to manage through metric driven process improvement techniques.
  • Ability to interpret financial documentation and translate that knowledge into operational solutions.

    General Physical Requirements

    The physical requirements are those consistent while fulfilling the essential job functions; including but not limited to the following :

  • Stand; walk; sit, use hands to type, dial, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and see, talk or hear.
  • Standing for prolonged periods while leading learning opportunities.
  • Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
  • Work is performed in an office environment. Ability to sit for long periods. Must be able to see and hear. Involves frequent contact with staff.
