Position Title : K–5 Classroom Teacher (Elementary Teacher, W2)
Employment Type : Full-Time
Compensation : Annual Salary : $63,500 – $72,000 + Benefits
Reports To : School Principal & Vice Principal
Location : Plainfield, NJ
Position Overview
The K–5 Classroom Teacher will create a nurturing and academically challenging learning environment that promotes curiosity, engagement, and growth for all students. The ideal candidate is passionate about fostering both academic excellence and social-emotional development in young learners while collaborating closely with families and colleagues to support student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom culture where every student feels welcomed, valued, and motivated to learn.
- Build strong relationships with students and families , demonstrating care, respect, and a commitment to their academic and personal growth.
- Design and deliver rigorous, student-centered instruction in literacy, math, and social-emotional learning aligned with the school’s curriculum and educational philosophy.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with special education services, multilingual learners, and those receiving academic interventions or enrichment.
- Facilitate whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction in engaging and developmentally appropriate ways.
- Assess and analyze student progress to develop targeted interventions and instructional extensions.
- Promote and model core school values , ensuring a caring, responsive, and safe classroom environment.
- Collaborate actively with colleagues, administrators, and instructional coaches through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) , professional development sessions, and feedback cycles to improve teaching practice and achieve student learning goals.
Qualifications
Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification – required.Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.Minimum of two years of teaching experience preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.Self-reflective, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to teaching and problem solving.Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous professional growth.Dedicated to achieving excellence and equity for all students, even in challenging circumstances.This is a full-time W2 position offering a competitive annual salary ($63,500 – $72,000) and a comprehensive benefits package.
