Description :
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Engineer to provide technical and engineering support for environmental matters at a major industrial facility in Medley, Florida. This role is pivotal in ensuring regulatory compliance, addressing environmental concerns, and driving sustainable practices.
The Environmental Engineer will work closely with the Environmental Manager, operational teams, and regulatory agencies to monitor compliance, manage reporting, and advocate for continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support daily environmental efforts to ensure facility compliance.
- Serve as an advocate for environmental matters with regulatory agencies.
- Assist in planning facility changes to align with environmental requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate daily environmental compliance, identifying and communicating non-compliance issues.
- Maintain and track environmental monitoring, reporting, and record retention.
- Communicate relevant environmental issues and regulations to employees and external parties.
- Prepare environmental permit applications, reports, and other required documentation.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to align environmental practices with operational goals.
- Contribute to the implementation of environmental improvement programs.
- Develop knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field (e.g., cement, aggregates, or concrete industries preferred).1-3 years of experience in environmental engineering roles.General knowledge of air and water quality standards, monitoring, and reporting.Strong ability to audit and inspect industrial operations for environmental compliance.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with employees, management, and regulatory agencies.Proficiency in preparing environmental permits, reports, and communications.Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines and work independently.Preferred Skills and Experience :
Experience with Title V permits, NSP / PSD, stormwater management, and Class III / IV permitting.Familiarity with Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and Data Acquisition and Handling Systems (DAHS).Prior experience in conducting environmental inspections and audits.Exposure to heavy industrial environments.About Us :
