Located in North Miami Beach, Florida, Scheck Hillel is a large private Jewish day school serving over 1,300 students from 18 months through 12th grade. With planned expansion and innovation on the horizon, we are seeking an exceptional Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help lead us into our next chapter.

About the Role

The COO reports directly to the Head of School and serves as a key member of the senior leadership team. This is a high-impact position responsible for ensuring that all non-academic functions of the school operate with excellence and efficiency. From long-range planning to day-to-day execution, you will drive innovation, manage complex systems, and lead cross-departmental teams to support a thriving learning environment.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership : Provide strategic oversight and daily leadership for school operations, fostering a campus culture of safety, service, and excellence.

Departmental Management : Oversee Facilities, Security, IT, Events, Health Services, Food Service, Janitorial, and Risk Management.

Systems & Processes : Develop, implement, and refine operational systems to improve effectiveness and accountability.

Strategic Initiatives : Lead major projects such as campus construction and technology upgrades from planning through execution.

Collaboration : Partner with school leadership and department heads to align operations with mission, educational goals, and long-term strategic vision.

Risk Management : Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulatory requirements; proactively mitigate institutional risk.

An experienced leader with a strong background in managing complex operational systems—ideally in a campus, school, or mission-based organization.

A collaborative communicator who can inspire, guide, and unite cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, Master'sdegree or higher

Experience in budgeting, financial management, and strategic planning within a school or educational organization.

Able to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

Able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time, including climbing ladders.
